REC: INTERVENTIONAL CARDIOLOGY

REC: Interventional Cardiology is the official publication of the Interventional Cardiology Association at the Spanish Society of Cardiology (ACI-SEC), part of the Revista Española de Cardiología (REC Publications) family, devoted to the study, prevention and treatment of cardiovascular disease. It is an official journal of the Spanish Society of Cardiology.

REC: Interventional Cardiology is a peer-reviewed bilingual (Spanish and English) quarterly journal, published online with a very limited print edition. The journal is owed by the Spanish Society of Cardiology and published in collaboration with Permanyer. It is funded entirely by the ACI-SEC. All articles are open access, they have been assigned a DOI provided by CrossRef and they are preserved following the digital archiving policy in CLOCKSS. Furthermore, the journal follows the recommendations of the Budapest Open Access Initiative to guarantee open access to all its contents. The journal is currently indexed in the WoS Core Collection/ESCI, Scopus, Embase, Latindex, Scielo, DOAJ, Dialnet, and Medes, and has an impact factor of 1.4.

All of the journal's processes are conducted strictly in accordance with international ethical guidelines on the publication of biomedical research and information, as are the steps taken to ensure the integrity and accuracy of the research published. The journal will investigate any ethical infraction taking all reasonable measures for its prompt resolution, acting with proportionality and if necessary, involving the institutions of origin of those concerned.

Aims and scope

The essential aim of our journal is to disseminate high-quality knowledge in the field of Interventional Cardiology with the ultimate goal of improving the quality of care provided to the patients with heart disease, improving health outcomes.

The scope includes both diagnostic and therapeutic aspects of cardiovascular disease related to catheter-based techniques and their multiple variants. The journal publishes rigorously peer-reviewed papers on clinical and experimental topics, approved by the editorial committee and in line with editorial policy. The topics covered include diagnostic techniques, percutaneous interventional procedures, drug therapy, laboratory findings and clinical trials, published as original articles, reviews and updates, editorials, editorial comments, case reports, interviews, images in cardiology and letters to the Editor.

REC: Interventional Cardiology is aimed at all health-care professionals involved in Interventional Cardiology, mainly interventional cardiologists, from fellows in training to the most senior experts, but also involving clinical cardiologists, experts in non-invasive imaging, nursing professionals and technicians. In addition, of course, those patients who wish to have reliable and very rigorous knowledge on this subject.
